There are several ways of beating alcohol addiction. It is true that there are several conditions such as candida infestation and hypothyroidism that can contribute alcoholism. But the most prevalent is hypoglycemia.

In hypoglycemia the body has problems converting carbohydrates into biological energy called ATP, that is essential in the production of the feel good brain chemical such as serotonin.
