Oblivion, that's the state we've all lived in all of these years. I don't think it's even denial, it's more of something everyone around here has just come to accept. I was born in 1959, so I was young when the atomic tests were being done. I'd heard people talk about things that had happened, but I didn't realize how bad it had been until I read a book called "The day we bombed Utah". It included our area, the couple of counties they have been testing for "downwinders". This one small town, at that time, had close to 20 dairys, and most people drank milk from the cows, that grazed on the grass that the dust fell on. My mother-in-law said they filmed the mushroom cloud they knew had gotten away from them, right out of the bedroom window. She will tell you about the sheep in this area having the wool fall off of them, like they had been burnt. My father, his brother, and step-father, worked for a ranch, and were out riding when one of the fall-out clouds came over. He said they had the worse "sun burns" they'd ever had in their lives. 9 months later, his step-father died of cancer. My Grandmother was one of those people that tried to "prove" things to collect the money, and finally gave up. She should have hired a lawyer, because she was sure that's what had brought the cancer on so quickly that he died from. Yes, my father has had cancer, two years ago he had brachy radiation treatments for prostate cancer. He has had to contend with hot flashes on a regular basis since then, and no one seems to know how to help him get rid of them. He was told he might have them for 6 months after the shot they gave him before the radiation treatments.

But, in the minds of everyone here, it was something that took place 40-45 years ago, a thing of the past... but, if they are still testing people and encouraging people to come in and have testing done, and still offering $50,000 per person if they can "prove" where they lived at that time (if they do find something), we probably have all been living in the oblivion of denial, not knowing how many of our friends and loved ones have died because of it, just thinking that dying is all part of living, that it's going to happen to all of us someday.

Someplace in your information, I had read where you could feel exactly the moment when your liver had cleaned out the toxins of what you had been exposed to in Vietnam, and that you had been taking something homeopathic. I don't even know where a person begins.

Like I've said about the parasites...sometimes it's scary to see what you get out of you that you didn't know had been in there, chewing holes in you and causing problems- unawareness. But if you are unaware, you don't know that you should be concerned, until you see them first hand, then the awareness causes a reaction, and the desire to do whatever it takes to get rid of them. Prior to that though, in complacency and oblivion, you just figure that's how you're "supposed" to feel, and that maybe you're just getting old, and that's just how life is going to be.

Maybe it's the same with all this other stuff- we haven't known to be worried, because we've been in oblivion and unawareness, (complacency) But, hearing first hand from my daughter's military officer, and soldier roommate, what she has been exposed to, it's made me wonder not only about what it could mean in the future for her, and all the other military, but now maybe I'm ready to open that door to learning what all of us here have been exposed to through our life too, and recognizing how my health, (all of our health) has been compromised.

You were right on, you told me my liver would never heal if I didn't kill the parasites...and I've definetly got an infestation of liver flukes. I've already passed a bunch just 5 days on MH dewormer, and am now preparing to do a flush and see how many I get out of the liver..

But, I'm now ready to hear more of what the whole bigger picture of our health issues are, my daughter's especially, from you and the people I have found to be so supportive.

Thanks for listening.
