New-iodine-takers
assume you have read the FAQs. If you have not, start there. But you want just the basics. I ordered an ounce from JCrows to send to my cousin because she wanted to start. Here is the email I sent her:
"This will come Priority Mail, if I remember correctly. So you should get it by Friday, Saturday at the latest. So start now taking a salty drink made with
Sea Salt . Make it warm or hot, to taste like broth. You can put something else in it if you like, (chopped garlic and pepper is my favorite) but you don't have to put anything in it. Use 4-8oz of warm or hot water. This is called salt loading. You will do it every morning whether you are taking
Iodine or not. It helps keep the detox symptoms down and it runs out the bromide 10 times (I think the study said 11) what it would run out without it. It is not the sodium that does this, it is the chloride, so you can substitute potassium chloride (sold in stores as a salt substitute) or magnesium chloride.
Don't have to do anything different, not change your diet or anything, but just so you know, bromine is added to flour, so if you cut flour down, it will help. When you start feeling better, you will naturally want to change your diet.
Take one drop every third day to start. Put it in 3-4
ounces of water. Don't take your magnesium or Vitamin C at the same time. If you have selenium, take one the same day you take the iodine. If not, try to get a bag of unshelled Brazil nuts and eat two each day. If you are going somewhere there are lots of germs, take 3-4 drops before you enter the house and you won't catch the cold or whatever they have. Keep your bowels really open, taking extra magnesium (dolomite or
Epsom Salts ) and/or Vitamin C because what you don't eliminate will recirculate in your body, settling in the tissues, and those tissues are what you are trying to get it out of.
Iodine will do what it wants to do. It may work on one thing, while you are hoping it will work on another. For example, I have not lost a pound! The first thing I noticed was after 2-3 weeks I had a lessening of my fibromyalgia pain. I rarely have ANY fibromyalgia pain any more.
When you get a chance read those links I sent you. Welcome to an exciting journey!"
A lot depends on how toxic you are. If you are really toxic, one drop every three days is good. If you are not so toxic, you might want to start with one drop a day. The rate you increase depends on how your detox goes. If it is rough, you know your body is unloading more than you are getting out. You then have the option to push through or pull back:

The
Iodine docs have people on 50-100mg of Iodoral (Lugol's in a pill) for three months, then on a maintenance dose of 12.5mg(one tab). One vertical drop is 6.5mg. If you are really toxic, you may want to take less over a longer period. You have to keep listening to your body and adapt, adapt, adapt. If something is not working for you, find something that will work for you to do the same thing. At any rate, it is important to take breaks, one day or two days per week, more if you get into heavy detox. I had "flu" after the first month and I took 12 days off.
As my testimonial, I have been taking
Lugol's since April 15, and am now taking huge doses (you may not want to, it's just what I chose). I got off all my meds (diabetic, high blood pressure and antidepressants) after three months. I wear contacts and have improved my reading glasses prescription from +2.50 to +1.50. I began with severe fibromyalgia, that each morning I felt like my shoulder was broken. That is history. I have gotten rid of my apathy, and have more energy and am able to work more hours (at first working just a few hours per day). I have a long way to go, but I am totally delighted to have gotten this far.
