Re: Peace???

First post.

I just started reading these forums recently after my wife discovered them.   I am not sick, but my wife is, and through the years I have spent thousands of dollars on every supplement known to man it seems.  My wife has chronic fatigue syndrome,  hypothyroidism, severe candida problems,  major allergies, depression, and many other issues.   We have tried every garden of life product they offered for years, and I could go on and on listing what she has tried, but I won’t.    A couple of months ago my wife found this forum on iodine.     She is very hopeful about it,  but she is like so many on here that are very sick--- she has to take it in very small amounts, or she has horrid symptoms such as panic attacks.     I have to admit, even though I pray for my wife daily to get well because it hurts me so much to see her suffer like this-----she has been sick for twenty years,   I am skeptical about the iodine helping her.   It just seems that even though we have bought every product under the sun, and done cleanse after cleanse, SHE IS NOT WELL!!  and doesn’t seem to even be making any progress.   Often she calls me at work balling saying she fears for our 3 year old because she can’t take care of her.    It really does just seem like we have tried everything,  but I know we haven’t.      I say all this because all we have gone through has brought us to the point of seeking deeper answers.      We have cried and prayed and searched the bible for answers more than ever in our desperation lately.    And even though my wife is still very sick,  we have both come to a much greater peace by seeking our Lord in all of this.   These forums are great to share information, and provide some moral and emotional support in dealing with all the sufferings from these health issues.   But the fact of the matter though is that these people can’t offer you peace. Only one physician can offer you peace and his name is Jesus.

Now I am not going to preach on these forums. But If you want to email me please do

Here are just a few verses that we hope and pray could speak to your heart.     We were deeply moved by all your post and can’t imagine the pain you feel right now.     We are praying for your rescue.     Sometimes we find ourselves in places where we absolutely can’t help ourselves anymore,  and our Lord delights in those times, because He created us to need Him.    We were never meant to do all this alone.    Go to Him!  God does not promise to end all our sufferings,  but He does tell us He will give us peace in them.    He also says He will give us rest.   Cry

Matthew  11:28 (1599 Geneva)

28 Come unto me, all ye that are wearie and laden, and I will ease you. 29 Take my yoke on you, and learne of me that I am meeke and lowly in heart: and ye shall finde rest unto your soules. 30 For my yoke is easie, and my burden light.

Philppians 4:7-8 (ESV)

6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8

We are grateful for the abilities God has given many doctors, whom He uses to heal us, and for the care they show us. But there is one Physician Who is Omniscient and Omnipotent, and Whose timing is perfect, and who knows us so intimately that He knows the numbers of hairs on our heads. Today we will see passages that relate to Jesus as the Great Physician. All passages are from the New Living Translation (NLT).

Jesus has the power to heal physically.

Mat 11:3 "Are you really the Messiah we've been waiting for, or should we keep looking for someone else?" 4 Jesus told them, "Go back to John and tell him about what you have heard and seen-5 the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.

Jesus is God of the seemingly impossible. This woman had tried for a dozen years, to acquire healing.

Mat 9:19 As Jesus and the disciples were going to the official's home, 20 a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, 21 for she thought, "If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed." 22 Jesus turned around and said to her, "Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well." And the woman was healed at that moment.

Sometimes He doesn't heal on this earth, but there is nothing which we can't handle, through His strength.

2 Cor 10:7 But to keep me from getting puffed up, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from getting proud. 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, "My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. 10 Since I know it is all for Christ's good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

He also wants to heal us spiritually and emotionally.

Mat 9:10 That night Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to be his dinner guests, along with his fellow tax collectors and many other notorious sinners. 11 The Pharisees were indignant. "Why does your teacher eat with such such?" they asked his disciples. 12 When he heard this, Jesus replied, "Healthy people don't need a doctor-sick people do." 13 Then he added, "Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: 'I want you to be merciful; I don't want your sacrifices. For I have come to call sinners, not those who think they are already good enough."

In Heaven, where we will live with our Perfect Physician, we will be compltely whole; there will be no physical or emotional illness, pain nor death.

1 Cor. 15:42 It is the same way for the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies, which die and decay, will be different when they are resurrected, for they will never die. 43 Our bodies now disappoint us, but when they are raised, they will be full of glory. They are weak now, but when they are raised, they will be full of power. 44 They are natural human bodies now, but when they are raised, they will be spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, so also there are spiritual bodies.

Rev. 21:4 He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its evils are gone forever.
