Your question: The discussion was that this worked to break down byproducts of the form of chlorination that can evaporate.
That is not what is used in much of the US. Chloramines have replaced the older from of chlorination. They are more persistent, and do not break down if water just sits around for a while.
My water district uses chloramines, so I am interested to know if High calcium limestore might work to break this down as well as it does the other form of chlorination.
Answer: Chloramines still convert to chlorine Gas, which "KILLS" "ALL" Bacteria, which is what is so "Deadly" to the Soil Life !
And the Calcium still will React against this chlorine Gas and form Calcium chloride and leach it out of the soil !
