Hi ML:
Since we are trying to build up the soil life to produce the humic and fulvic acids to feed the plants alkaline minerals, isn't chlorinated city water opposed to the goal we're trying to achieve? Before I spend money on a chlorine filter for my garden hose, I wanted to see what you thought about it. I don't know the ppm of Chlorine the city uses. Do you use chlorinated water and still get high brix plants? If you are concerned about costs, I can get a standard water filter housing for $40 and a good quality GAC/KDF standard water filter cartridge for $21, rated for 20,000 gallons. If i want 99% Chlorine free, the GAC/KDF cartridges will cost $39.
