Jhan, Curezone, fasting, etc.
I am quite familiar with Curezone, Jhan.
In fact I might be older than you on this forum, ;-D as I posted nearly 4 years ago, when my candida relapsed after 9 years of good health.
I stopped posting, and even reading, because a number of the therapies advocated here were way too steep for me at the time, and made me sicker when I tried them, sometimes very sick.
like the liver cleanse that set me back so much, it took me 2 months to regain lost ground.
I appreciate the wealth of info Curezone provides but the fact that a therapy is advocated on the forum does not guarantee per se it's efficient or safe for all. Most therapies involve risks for certain people, that's why utter caution and warnings are advisable when giving advice.
Having lived in Morocco and Lebanon, I can tell you that fasting, even if it's only for half a day, is not without health consequences for some, I have seen people in the streets pass out and even die from it. While the benefits of fasting are not that clear--it makes more sense to eat reasonable amounts of food, and follow a
healthy Diet on a daily basis rather than to fast for a while and eat a not so good diet the rest of the time.
And again, specifically for candida, I do not see the advantages of eliminating ALL foods, since you can starve candida without starving yourself, just by eliminating or reducing
Sugar and carbs only.
IMO, Fasting might be mostly a leftover of religious beliefs, the need to suffer and to please God, erase your sins and punish and purify yourself.
Another reason that made me leave this forum for a while is the philosophy that seems to be guiding some of the participants--eliminate the candida, kill it, nuke it, cleanse, purge, repeatedly, indefinitely, even if you traumatize your body in the process.
like the problem stems from a bad guy, an alien entity that invades your gut like a foreign army; and also that you have to suffer like hell to get well.
Interestingly enough, this alien germ theory discovered by Pasteur is THE dogma of classic allopathic medecine; it is now seriously put into question but it still impregnates many minds, including on this forum.
My experience with candida inclines me to think that this theory is bogus--what seems to matter most in this disease is 1/ the way your body functions and 2/ triggering factors like ingesting
Antibiotics , long term use of the Pill, stress, high sugar/carbs diet etc.
When the body cannot cope anymore, candida takes over, possibly as a scavenger. If you try to eliminate candida without correcting what let him take over in the first place, you are bound to relapse.
