Have you considered mixing the kelp into a paste on the side, and taking a helping of the moistened kelp then chasing it with the drink sans kelp? This tastes much better and works well for me!!! Enough can be mixed for a day or so, kept in frig.
I have also used the cap 'em quick for years. They work, but are a bit more time consuming than the above. I only use mine for things as awful tasting as wormwood. But of course, if the paste method doesn't work, better to do one's own capsules than buy. Cheaper and can control freshness and quality.
