Re: Not everyone thinks I'm wrong.

Hi em,

for what it's worth, I have an appointment with my doctor next week so I'm going to ask him about the possibiity of having the results of the next flush tested. He's also a gastroenterologist so he should have some specialized knowledge. I haven't been with him for long so I'm not sure what his reaction will be.

Part of the problem with this is collecting the "stones." (warning - this is going to get messy...) When I read that Gallstones float, I thought, hey this will be easy, I'll stick a colander in the toilet bowl and wash away the residue with water to leave just the stones (like panning for gold!). Well, I fear this may be the wrong approach. If I did pass small, calcified ones then they would have been lost because of my collecting technique. So clearly one needs to catch everything.

The whole procedure is pretty disgusting. By the time I'd been to the bathroom for the sixth time I was heartily sick of it and just wanted to flush the results away.

Anyway, I'll see how it goes with my doctor. Hopefully he'll agree to me doing a cholesterol test before and after (can cholesterol in the blood change that quickly?) Maybe he'll be receptive to testing my flush results. If he is I'll try to post the results.

Ern.
