Re: Anyway try Jordan Rubin's Guts and Glory Program?

Hi 2life,

I do not think the PD or kefir is causing your constipation. You will go through different stages on your road to healing. Stay the course. Your body is changing everyday. One day you will wake up and your body will be healed. It sounds like you have improved. This is great! You have a very nasty dis-ease. I know you are well aware of this. It is going to take some time to heal. However, It will heal. If the PD is taxing you, think about lowering the dose for now. I would recommend you stay with the kefir and increase the amount you are now consuming when you feel you can.

I do not expect you to answer me on the following questions. These are things for you to think about.

Are you staying away from all grains? This is so important.
Are you eating Sugar or junk food?
Are you taking something for inflammation? (cod liver oil, coconut oil. I would not be without these two oils) Have you tried FYI (for your inflammation)
Do you take a digestive enzyme?
Have you tried powered wheatgrass? I like Kamut.(I would not consume fresh wheatgrass at this time.)
Are you able to move around?
Do you still take the clay? If so, you may want to stop for now.
The book states "If you follow the program to a tee but you do not improve after twenty-eight days, the Guts and Glory Program most likely will not work for you. I know it has not been 28 days, (close to it) however, are you improving on this program?

From the book:

If you have constipation we recommend eating whole foods that are high in fiber instead of relying solely on fiber products. (No psyllium, methylcellulose,) The Gut and Glory Program provides ample amounts of fiber if it is followed correctly. pg 200

Coconut oil: Coconut oil supports the immune system and helps prevent bacterial, viral, and fungal infections. Reportedly, it reduced the symptoms of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulosis, IBS, and constipation. pg 251

Eat smaller meals. Eat small meals instead of stuffing yourself. Many foods recommended in our program greatly enhance metabolism. When large portions are consumed, however, metabolism slows down, digestion is stressed, and feelings of weakness and lethargy ensue. pg 260

Avoid ice-cold foods and beverages. Ice-cold foods and beverages may shock your digestive tract and shut down your digestive function. The body must work very hard to raise the temperature of foods and beverages to body temperatures. Even foods from the refrigerator should be left at room temperature for ten minutes to help dispel the cold. pg 260

Candidiasis is believed to contribute to a host of gastrointestinal complaints when it is out of balance with the other microbes in the gastrointestinal tract. These complaints include constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, and abdominal pain. pg 260

Causes of constipation: pg 268
A lack of fiber in the diet is the chief cause.
A lack of beneficial microorganisms in the digestive tract is another major cause.
Lack of exercise and dehydration can also contribute
Some medicines, including anti-histamines can be the culprit, too.

Include, fibrous and enzyme-rich food, vegetables, fruits, raw fermented foods, a high-quality probiotic, and digestive enzyme supplements-in your diet is the best way to relieve constipation.
Drink plenty of water as well. pg 268

Please take care...Wishing you abundant health.
