Yes, yes of coarse.....but I am thinking along the lines of a chemotherapy approach. There may be a drug by way of serendipitous qualities, that could cause a temporary rise in blood PH which could trigger enzymes that might "shut off" the growth mechanisms of this biosynthetic hybrid protein.
