Cyst on the tyroide... What to do

Hi to everyone,
We have discovered about 3 months ago that my wife has a cyst on the tyroide about 1 inch large. Doctors had advise us to remove it eventhough test did show no sign of cancer. (Just to make sure according to the doctor). It is not very visible but we can feel it well when palping. I came to this forum read a lot and decided to try lugol. My wife is really scare to take more than 3 drops a day. Me too by the way ;)
She also took her temperature (for a week now) in the morning and it is around 36.1 to 36.4 depends. Is that normal?
How much DROPS Iodine should she take? Can we apply it directly on the cyst at bed time too?
Im a bit confuse here. I did the patch test on my arm to try it and in 6 hours the color was completly gone, no trace. What does that mean?
