depends on age, and diet history. The bones are a fluoride repository; they're not dead, like rocks, but very much alive, with an equilibrium between themselves and the blood, the kinetics of which are not fully understood. as with any theory, the one I wrote of may be incorrect, but it seems reasonable on its face.
