Re: I would love to have support. What is your experiencing with fasting?

Yes, I am doing the fast for weight loss, but I thought it would be better to have a target length based on time instead of on weight loss. I think for me knowing there is a definite goal and a definite timeline will make it easier to actually complete it as planned. IF instead I was simply going to fast until I lost the weight I set as a goal, then breaking the fast for nibbles here and there becomes easier since it just menas it takes a little longer. In my previous experience with a longish fast (and failed experiences with starting one that I then broke early) the little nibbles really throw off my metabolism and appetite. I seem to go through the "fog" at the start of a fast, then through a similar but shorter "fog" when I break it and yet again when I say ooops and try to get back on it I go through a similar "fog" again. That's too painful. Also my appetite soars and I want to eat everything I see or smell and in unlimited quantities. I think I am better off (YMMV) if I just get on it and stay on it.

If I'm short of my weight goal at the end of 30 days, I'll do some more watching what I eat (which I would do anyway to keep the health gains I expect) and a regular exercise program (again, which I would do anyway to keep the health gains I expect).

And thanks for the support. I do wonder as this thread gets pages deep if many people will see it or not.
