Re: Hello PTree
Hi PTree,
About 20 years ago I went to the doctor as one half of my throat was sore and it concerned me. If I had just a
regular sore throat I might have treated it myself, but this seems so sore and I was thinking of a growth or
something. He was an ENT doctor and right away he wanted to exray my salivary glands and it came back
where the exray showed it was full of stones. The exray looked like polka dots. What happens is for some
reason some people have stones in the salivary glands. They pass from your mouth under your tongue where
the saliva enters and most of us don't notice how or pays attention to this. The reason one half of my throat
was sore is that a larger stone was passing and had slowed down and and as the duct passes by the throat, it
put pressure on the throat and made it sore. The doctor suggested I suck on a lemon making the juices flow
from the gland and move the stone. Since then I am aware when I find these little white stones in my mouth, that
they are these stones. They look like small pieces of cooked barley but totally a white or very light cream color.
I live with these with no discomfort and yet I have from time to time saved them and so I really know what they
look like. When they dry they are like small chips that become hard. I have never had them analyzed but I understand
that 1% of the population has them. So I was blown away when instead of the green stones I have had in the last
three flushes, here on the 4th I get white ones that are so similar. And it was a lot of them...I really would like to
know why these are white and what is going on. Do you know of the reason for this?
Also I passed these stones for two days....odd, right? I guess I am just glad I'm getting the stuff out of there.
P.S. Yes, I am drying the stones to see what they look like in a week...
Thanks for the question....Angela
