Theory: Why Successive Flushes Produce More Stones
Hi gang, I have been thinking about why ppl are reporting getting more and larger stones on successive flushes (I've only had ONE, that ended today...successful, got out 200 small stones!!!).
So here's my theory. Imagine you had a turkey baster. The kind with a plastic tube attached to a big rubber bulb. The rubber bulb is the gall bladder.
Now imagine that the turkey baster is filled with stones of different sizes...some sand, pebbles, and rocks. Fill it with as much water as will still fit in it. This is the gall bladder, filled with gall stones and some bile.
It would be very hard to squeeze the rubber bulb to empty any stones from it. In fact it would not squeeze very much at all, DUE to all the stones in it. Therefore, very few stones would come out. And the ones that did come out would tend to be the smaller ones, because the rubber bulb (gall bladder) cannot squeeze very much at all.
Now fill the bulb with water again (more bile in the gall bladder). Again squeeze it. This time, there are less stones in it than before, so it will squeeze a little more, more stones will come out of it, and they may be a little larger.
Repeat this a few times. Each time you squeeze the rubber bulb/gall bladder, it empties more and larger stones, making more room inside it for larger squeezes the next time. Successive squeezes/flushes result in expulsion of progressively larger stones as the extra room allows. Finally it will be empty!
So this is my theory on why ppl report more and larger stones on successive flushes. It does not take into account the fact that in a liver flush, lemon juice softens the stones, but I think I may be onto something here.
What do you think?
