there really are plenty of unknowns to explore without debating stuff we already know about. elemental Iodine is not poison, but like most other elements, it can be a part of a poisonous compound or rendered poisonous in other ways. i know for a fact KI and I2 are not poisonous, otherwise i would be dead.
