Re: Please help: Pretty sure I am hypoglycemic

Hypoglycemia is a ramification of adrenal fatigue which may be due to impaired digestion.

That's because in general people with adrenal fatigue have very low DHEA levels. Besides being directly connected to symptoms of fatigue and fluctuating anxiety/depression, it appears to spike insulin levels in the blood - this can trigger a hypoglycemic episode. Low DHEA levels can also cause the body to convert nutrient intake into fat (high insulin).
Slowly the cells gain insulin resistance and diabetes is right at the door.

A high protein diet is typically recommended for people with adrenal problems as it provides a fairly constant supply of energy and does not trigger large fluctuations in blood Sugar levels. I think the problem goes deeper than this too because of potential problems with protein/fat metabolism derived from low stomach acid levels.

Impaired fat/protein digestion may slowly deplete the raw materials required for the adrenals to function at an optimal level, specifically the aminoacids which are required for hormone production.

You want to make sure you digest and absorb your food (otherwise you can trigger dysbiosis in the gut and nutritional deficiencies), so you may want to make sure you have enough stomach acid and digestive enzymes to do the job.
Carbohydrate metabolism is typically not affected by achlorhydria, unlike protein/fat metabolism. So the carbs you eat will be converted to Sugar and ultimately to fat. Lack of aminoacids will cause of failure in Sugar regulation and the burning of excess fat from the energy storages (which require carnitine and other cofactors to convert it).

If you focus on improving you protein/fat digestion you will make sure you have the necessary components to activate fat burning and help with blood sugar regulation.
