Re: Iodine and aging issues...
Thanks, all who have responded so far. I am beginning to see the really nasty cycle of drug use to mask symptoms in old age. I got another question tonight about cholesterol and Lipitor so I want to do some research on eliminating the causes of arterial plaque, too. i.e. not just treating the symptom, cholesterol.
I have a friend who is a nurse who says that high cholesterol and oral/periodontal problems can go hand in hand. i am not exactly clear on why -- i think the harmful bacteria released into the bloodstream when a root canal, for instance, is performed can signal to the body to produce cholesterol. i wonder if OP will help here. and i wonder if
Iodine would be helpful here, too!
the really depressing thing is that not only are doctors at fault for not treating causes rather than symptoms, but people feel like taking pills is an action so they don't have to drink water, vinegar, exercise, whatver. all of the people i mention in my earlier post -- these old friends -- have wonderful kids and grandkids, and very nice lives in general. they have all had good health care throughout their lives and access to good nutrition, etc. but some of them are just falling prey to things like food addiction -- one of these neighbors is about 70 and is just falling apart due to being 6'4 and being 100 lbs overwieght. his back and leg pain have gotten debilitatingly bad! ugh. it is just a mess.
anyway, any/all comments welcome, and many thanks again. i am so grateful to have your opinions and knowledge here.
