Re: Starting 49 day "Buddha" fast tomorrow

a 5 day fast is actually a fast, one of the dictionary definitions for fasting reads "a period of abstention or self-denial". it's easier to build up to long fasts by starting slow, incorporating short fasts first leading up to longer fasts. fasting can be anything from going without a certain food or staying off the pc for a set number of days to abstaining from sex for a period of time etc. obviously on here, we're all fasting for weightloss. personally i don't think you should dismiss others' efforts in fasting....some people would find it incredibly hard to go 24 hrs without food, let alone 5 days. i say well done lauray for even trying, i'm sure you felt your fast was real self-denial :)
