high arsenic vs. zero arsenic...??Re: Iodine vs Kelp vs Ionic vs natural extracts
No debate here, just a note of caution/consideration...
If you do a internet search, you'll find the level of arsenic in seaweed to be phenomenally high, and that MANY natural healers caution greatly about supplementing with seaweed (especially/mostly in high quantities).
Yes, there is 'natural' arsenic in most everything in our oceans, but we're LONG past the point to be able to determine which kind is which. Poison is poison...and there's a lot of poison in seaweed (along with it's other benefits...grrr).
In one of the studies I read (or audios I heard), they mentioned that the cancer rates in Japan are lowest in the world because of the seaweed/iodine. They also mentioned that Japanese stomach cancer rates are HIGH...presumably because of the arsenic in the seaweed.
I'm not recommending/debating for or against seaweed for iodine. I AM saying if I have a choice of getting my
Iodine in a "poison/arsenic free" form or ingesting something I am sure contains poison, I'm going with the "poison free version".
