Re: Iodine vs Kelp vs Ionic vs natural extracts

You are thinking along the same lines that I am. I, too, have been concerned that if someone overdoses, the powers that be would love to step in and take all Iodine away from us. Scary thought.

A couple of M.D.s said they tried the orthoiodosupplementation (50 Mg.?) along with a couple other folks and that at about six weeks they all experienced GERD. Whether they are being honest about this, who knows. But I do know that overdosing on things can cause the very things they cured. Our bodies don't like it. I can locate this information about those M.D.s if anyone hasn't heard this. These doctors seemed to be relying on Gaby's info., so maybe they are just trying to go in the opposite direction from Flechas/Abraham/Brownstein.

I feel most comfortable with the Icelandic Kelp from clean, cold waters. I also use the dulse from Maine Coast Sea Vegetables. They dry it without heat so that it retains the special yeasts/enzymes for digestion.

Dr. David Derry, M.D. (I have his book on Iodine & Breast Cancer.)says that it is not appreciated how little Iodine there is in fish, that the Japanese get most of theirs from seaweed. The bottom line at the end of his book is that perhaps we shoud supplement with 2 drops of Lugol's because of all the pollution from fossil fuels in the world today.
