Re: Multiple Sclerosis A holistic approach

Some times you have to learn to like the things you need to do.
Getting your body the heal requires a complete program and you can't pick and chose what you like and use and dislike and don't use. If you want to get well do the program if not don't
green leafy juicing, plus cilantro is not Oral Chelation therapy
your body aches from calcium because it is from an inorganic source
Octacosanol is a waxy substance naturally present in some plant oils and is the primary component of sugar cane extract called policosanol. In several well-controlled studies from Cuba, policosanol, at 10 to 20 mg per day has been reported to lower LDL cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol) levels 21%–29% while raising HDL cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol) levels 8%–15%, although it does not affect triglyceride levels.1 2 3 4 5 Smaller amounts (5 mg per day) have produced similar effects on LDL but no effect on HDL.6 7 Policosanol appears to work primarily by inhibiting the liver’s production of cholesterol.8 In addition, policosanol may help atherosclerosis that affects arteries of the neck.9
Octacosanol-containing wheat germ oil was investigated long ago as an ergogenic (exercise performance-promoting) agent. These preliminary studies found that octacosanol had promising effects on endurance, reaction time, and other measures of exercise capacity.10 In a more recent controlled trial, 1,000 mcg per day of octacosanol for eight weeks was found to improve grip strength and visual reaction time, but had no effect on chest strength, auditory reaction time, or endurance.11
Where is it found? Octacosanol is a waxy substance found in vegetable oils and sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum). Another compound, called policosanol, contains several similar compounds, including a large proportion of octacosanol.
Octacosanol has been used in connection with the following conditions (refer to the individual health concern for complete information):
Who is likely to be deficient? Because octacosanol is not an essential bodily constituent, deficiencies do not occur.
How much is usually taken? When octacosanol is taken as part of policosanol, 5–10 mg of policosanol is taken twice each day with meals. For exercise performance, 1 mg per day of octacosanol has been used.
Are there any side effects or interactions? Long-term human studies using doses up to twice the typical therapeutic dose (that is, 20 mg each day) have not shown any negative effects.12
