Re: So what is the answer then?

I did have all my Amalgams removed 2 years ago; I had very high levels of mercury and lead when I tested after the removal. I been undergoing gentle chelation.
I feel that you primarily need to boost detoxification pathways specially in the liver. This is only accomplished by providing the right nutrition (which should come after you fix your digestion). After boosting my AA intake, my liver was dumping to much toxins too fast and it backfired (got clogged up). I was using a very good product (xymogen medcaps dpo) to cleanse the liver and it did help.
But I would stick with fixing the digestion, primarily with means of boosting stomach acid levels and digestive enzymes. This will "burn" toxic residues in the gut that makes candida thrive.

Amalgam removal is desirable but care must be taken not to overburn the liver with additional toxins. Gentle chelation after removal would be desired.
