8th grade was awesome. Especially that summer of lying at the beach, accelerating tanning with Monkey Piss -- the oil-iodine combo solution for girls in the know! I think I used it in one form or another in boarding school and college....

Cold is good, absolutely. But it can make going out with two little ones more of a challenge. We head for places where they can run around inside. What I have learned is that if you have dogs or kids, best to be near a college. They are usually pretty dog- and kid-friendly.

So, I can patch-test with drugstore iodine, but better to ingest Lugol's. A cold day is what Internet shopping is there for, right?
