Re: beth!
hey beth!
you had me worried i thought there was lots of clumps of hair disappearing into your drain!!
yes, you are right about the mousse and other products! i forgot to say you need to give all that up if you want to detox your head with the oil! of course once you detox you wont need that stuff any more - you will have your natural beautiful hair back!
basically, the principle with this detox is:
1. stop using toxins on the head (and body) 2. improve elimination from the skin and draw out toxins with the olive oil 3. establish a healthy, natural approach to hair care (100% natural soap, avoid any further exposure to toxins)
you have to brave the detox but once you get through it you will be glad you dont have to chemicalise your head every day with those nasty synthetics. you can read the article imalurnin shared in a reply to my post about shampoo build up if you havent read it yet (explains how commercial hair products only prolong the problem and cause further damage and toxicity rather than being a solution to hair problems)
you know, my hair used to be just like you describe totally flat and lifeless. i used to spend ages trying to get it to 'do something'. the best thing i did was give up all my hair products! i dont even blow dry my hair any more (i used to have to every day!). my hair has even become a more rich, natural looking colour - like when i was a kid!! lol! the actual strands of hair are thicker and stronger, and my hair is shiny without going anywhere near conditioner (or even vinegar!). have faith - when your head is healthy your hair will be healthy and health = beauty!!!
also, you probably know this already but many hair dyes contain heavy metal based pigments and other carcinogens (particularly dark hair colours eg the pigment ultramarine i think it is, which is in blue/black, black and purple tinted hair dyes). so these things, maybe they can make your hair fall out when you detox from them!
or do you use a vegetable dye? ive heard they are even better than the synthetic ones giving much brighter colour that lasts better! even better, have you considered using henna? it is as far as ive read, totally non-toxic.
i hope you will try the oil again some time in the furture and see good results with it! (i think it could be as simple as making sure the towel stays tight, as this makes a big difference i think)
good luck to regain your hairs natural beauty!!
