There is natural fluoride and industrial or man-made fluoride. 2/3rds of the US drinking water has this industrial fluoride added (not taken away) but added to it's water supply.

Why?

Well if you have strong teeth all American dentists would have hardly any patients and couldn't charge their outrageous prices for services. (Compare a dentist in any american chinatown compared to american dentists.) Hence the need to add fluoride to weaken teeth.

You see the AMA protects its constituents, even if it means slowly killing the populace.
