what would be really cool is to brush plate the Amalgam fillings with gold.

look up "brush plating" sometime.

if one could plate enough gold over the top of the amalgam, then it might inhibit release of mercury, which could enable other teeth with cavities healing process to not be interfered with by mercury present in amalgams.

I believe once a person gets one Amalgam filling, that the tiny amounts of mercury released by that Amalgam inhibit the mouth's natural defenses against more cavities occuring. mercury fillings beget more mercury fillings.
