Iodine in DMSO

I don't recommend anyone to do this.

DMSO is a dangerous solvent. If contacted with skin, it rapidly enters the blood stream and you can taste it in your mouth right away. It is dangerous becuase whatever might be dissolved in it is also carried to the blood stream. It can be used as a needle-less means of putting materials into the blood.

I mixed a drop of Lugol's with a drop of DMSO. Iodine evidently dissolves in DMSO.

Then, using a Q-tip, I dabbed a drop on a mole on my leg that came up on me about 5 years back.

I can taste the DMSO.

I can also feel the Iodine entering. In fact, the muscle under the mole is twitching. 10 minutes later it stopped. Could definitely feel something penetrating, as opposed to when just pure DMSO is used.

I bet this is a good mole remover.

But it is also probably hazardous to make more than two drops at a time, to avoid situations where larger amounts are contacted with skin, which could lead to a rapid massive oversose of Iodine if large surface area of skin is contacted with large amount of solution. I keep it to no more than two drops at a time.
