natural easy cure for gerd or acid reflux

I came across information for treating and curing acid reflux. I do not suffer from this problem; however, many friends do. To see if the information worked I asked several friends with the problem to try the procedure. It actually worked for them and worked very well. All the prescription medications out there control stomach acid production. The real problem is at the opening to the stomach and along the esophagus. Neither of these has a protective lining like the stomach.

If a person eats too quickly and doesn't chew well, pieces of food actually scratch and irritate the esophagus and opening to the stomach. This is the area that needs help....not the stomach. The research suggested a few simple steps that in fact do cure the problem within a very short period of time, i.e., 5 days to one month.

I'll briefly outline what to do:

Limit your diet to only soft foods. No chips, crackers, nuts, raw crunchie vegetables.
Chew your food very well before swallowing and eat slowly.
Avoid coffee, teas, and soda (especially soda).
If you have to have coffee limit it to one cup a day and follow it with a glass of water to cleanse the esophagus.
Each meal is to be followed by a glass of water.
Chewing gum throughout the day also helps if you like to chew gum.
The most important thing of all is raw unpasturized honey which has many antibacterial and healing properties.
When the burn starts, pour a teaspoon or two of the raw unpasturized honey onto the back of your throat and swallow.
This absolutely must be done just prior to going to bed.
It coats the esophagus and protects it from contact of stomach acid. Think of acid coming into contact with a cut.

This is what is happening:

Once the burning episodes are over (several friends were fine within a few days) you can resume a normal diet provided you remember to chew your food very well and eat slowly. If the acid reflux returns just go back to the outlined procedure for a couple days. Several friends continue to take the honey before going to bed at night just to keep the esophagus and opening to the stomach in good shape. I hope this helps you as it has friends of mine.
