Re: Wow...so damn true. n/p
It is insidious. 10 years altogether. A very strong man, very charismatic, good looking, charming, highly sought after by other women.
No wonder he picked me. I was willing to put with most anything. And I was treated pretty well for about 5 years. On year 6, he ramped up "teasing", and teasing became criticism, and criticism turned into hitting, pushing, etc.
He ripped up and destroyed years of original artwork I did.
I had no idea what narcissism was until after I met him. He fits the profile perfectly. He left me for another woman. Thank goodness.
But there were clues all along. Clues I was too naive to see. And he was so dramatic!! The drama was over the top, really.
I still have a dream that I wake up in the morning, and it's not my present husband, but him. I scream out, what are you doing here? He says that he's my husband, why wouldn't he be there.....Yikes, that is a very very horrible dream.
I wish we could save every woman going through this.....
