Re: ....

I just posted this at msn Body Odor s group (then i read your message on curezone):

Hey you guys,
I had to post this tonight because I am truly baffled! On 10/1 I had a conversation with my mother about my Body Odor . Mind you I have had a problem for 22 years and never once had a conversation with anyone about it. i showed her some testimonies of people from curezone and told her i have the same problems as them. she was so sad when she looked at me and told me that i don't have any bo and that she hoped i wasn't just picking up on these peoples problems and claiming them (like the hypochondriac i have a tendency to be). i assured her that this has been a problem of mine for 22 years ( i am now 40) and asked how could she say she never smelled anything bad about me. we went back and forth, me saying " i stink" and she saying "you do not!". finally we agreed to disagree. she was truly hurt that i thought such a thing about myself, which baffled me to no end. unfortunately my mom passed away 2 days after that conversation. i am still emotionally raw regarding her death.
Well for thanksgiving, my father's sister came to visit us in GA. when she went back home, she emailed me and said she wanted to discuss something personal with me and she hoped i wouldn't be offended. i thought "finally, someone is going to ask me if i know i have bo". well i happen to be overweight and that is what she wanted to discuss. she wanted to buy an exercise video for me for xmas and didn't know if it would offend me. i told her to send it, and i decided to ask her about my bo since we were discussing 'offensive" topics . she said "sweety no!!! i've never smelled bad odor coming from you! why would you think that?" then she proceeded to ask me if i thought she had bad breath, which she always worries about but never has. she said she promised that i don't stink and she wanted me to stop being paranoid about it.
I have noticed many of you have said your parents or families or close friends have denied your bo as well. so my question is, are we crazy or are they?? can they all just be trying to protect us? even if we beg for their honesty? i am now going to ask my sister and my husband if they ever smell me. they are both very frank people and if they tell me no, then i think i will start to believe them. maybe we are suffering from some sort of paranoid olfactory syndrome or something scientifically weird like that. i don't know, i just want to be normal, and if hanging on to the thought that my odor and people's reactions to it is only in my head helps me along, then so be it!!! i encourage all of you to be bold and ask a friend or family member "do i stink?" and see what they say. if they say no, then hell, believe them!!! why drive ourselves freakin nuts!?!
peace,
mommy_luv
