you are right in your sumation that the cause of most of our problems is because of greed. around here a berger and fries will cost at least $5 and can go as high as $7-$9 and you are being served by unskilled labor,meaning that the owner is just barely making a profet. the reason he went into business to begin with. i agree that people in lower paying jobs don't make enough to live a decient life. but if the min. wage goes up as it should. someone is going to lose their job,and the owner will suffer because there will not be enough workers to provide good service,which will cause you and me not to eat out as often, because of poor service and the high cost of the meal.
as you mentioned in your post, every thing is motivated by greed. i have owned several real small businesses and i can tell you from experience that it is really hard to stay in business and offer a service at an honest and fair price. but actually that is really the only way to make it.
the american businesses are pricing themselves out of business. many years ago you didn't hear too many people speak of millionaires, but people now speak of billionaires every day, like it was nothing. things can't continue on like this much longer. as you are witnessing man cannot govern himself for long without causing a total colllapse of his unfair system, and sad to say things aren't going to get better anytime soon.
