Why not trying to find the simplest way? Find a food steamer, it can do as well cook rice. My food steamer (a cheapo) can cook rice as well. Obviously I have to find a substitute for the rice bowl in this steamer since it's plastic. Perhaps I should look for a oven rated glass bowl that can fit in.

Ignore the price, obviously is marked more expensive than the price I paid for it.
