It's not a scab; it's dead skin.


I believe this is an important distinction to make. Scabs are made of blood and platelets. If your lips aren't bleeding, which mine never have as a result of this, how can it be a scab? This is why I don't think it's helpful to leave on the skin. It's just dead skin, sitting there, possibly suffocating the skin underneath it. Thoughts on this idea are welcome.
