Armed Store Owner - may not face charges

Started off trying to take this story at face value. Silly me, lesson learned once again for trying to give crooks in the media an even break. Be this as it may, at face value the headline seems to be drawing attention that it still remains a matter of question whether or not a store owner, who used a firearm to protect herself and store, will face charges for having done so. A telling quote from within the story comes from a the police:
“Most handguns are registered to the owner,” said Sgt. Aaron Beatty, of the Pittsburgh Police. "Having it in the business or where you live, you do not have to have a license to carry it because it is inside a premises or building. At that point, anybody threatened could grab it and use it if they feel - and could argue or articulate in court - that they felt their life or somebody else’s life was in danger.”
Rember that folks. Remember that for the next time your life may unexpectedly end up in a similar danger. During those frantic few seconds when your mind may race on what to do, how to best protect yourself, your property, your safety, perhaps even your family, you may want to somehow include among those thoughts consideration of whether or not the actions forthcoming from them in the next moment or two, whatever your mind settles on, will be an action you will later be able to argue and articulate in court. Will it? What court? Which court? Who's court? Which judge? Which lawyer defending? How much money behind any of these? Which form of law and the rule therein will be tried? Difficult to say. There are so many to choose from thee days, it's hardly like these are all simple, generic and vanilla considerations...... but try to remember.
