Do you mean that the pads simply attract the normal oils from the skin of your feet, Laughingrrrl?

I wondered if it was something like that, too.

If I remember correctly, the ones we used were made from some special kind of bark, etc.

But whether it was oil or sweat, something was being drawn from the feet, right?

Of course, maybe that substance runs out, and the pads come up dry one day. Don't know.
