Good question about how to prevent in the future. I guess raising a new dog on a raw diet would be about the best prevention one could do.

Thank you for the info about the pigs ears. I will throw away the ones that I have right away and stop feeding them to our pups. They do like them, but too bad. Although since they eat raw food, every time I give them one, which isn't often, they get the runs....so that is a strong message to me right there. For treats I othewise feed them raw pigs feet, which they love, so it makes sense to stick to raw. And they tolerate them just fine with no stomach upset.

Here is something that I just found about incontinence. You could try either of two chinese formulas. Rehmannia Six or Rehmannia Eight, which regulates the water balance in the body. (1 gm/20 pounds of weight, 2 to 3 times per day. If using a tincture, give 5-10 drops per 20 pounds, 2 to 3 times per day.)Or you could try glandular therapy - testicular glandular therapy. That would be more natural than injecting testosterone?

I agree with your idea that docs and vets should read these forums. The good ol allopathic vs. naturopathic debate. Treat symptoms or causes....hmmmm. Which one is more lucrative???? Oh yeah, it's all about the money.
