Re: What's the REAL power in glyconutrients?

I recently read a book I got at a health food store about GI problems and they talk about aloe as a lymph-purifying herb and an herb that acts on mucoid in the GI tract and the lymphatic system. That might explain the benefit to the immune system. And it might explain why they tell you the other song and dance about how it works; their explanation sounds more believable to the scientific community, even if it is baloney. But I sure would like to hear what others who know more about this think, I am just trying to understand it all, and trying to get well.

I went to a M****tech meeting last year, and felt concerned. I didn't get how their sales pitch was explaining the benefits and one of the women who was cured of terrible thyroid problems was at least 50 lbs overweight. I was confused. If she was cured of it, why would she have such a bad weight problem? I don't mean to be judgemental or critical, I just want to understand the health implications. I wonder if it fixes one problem, but doens't fix something else. Any thoughts anyone?
