Re: Do you think people have landed on the moon?

My Dad was one of the senior computer engineers at Mission Control in Houston during the Apollo moon missions, Skylab, the space shuttle missions, and designed the computer hardware for the Hubble Space Telescope. He's met some of the astronauts. They went to the moon, all right. The guy you met was probably pulling your leg. A lot of my Dad's friends were big kidders.

If anyone has ever seen the movie Apollo 13 and remember the scene with the dorky looking engineers with the legal pads, slide rules, and pencils, that represented the hundreds of engineers who worked round the clock to get those three astronauts "sling-shotted" around the moon and back into the earth's atmosphere alive. My dad was one of those engineers. He says the movie was pretty accurate, BTW.
