Interesting ~ I know the verse you are speaking of, but I do not know any of my Christian brothers and sister who take that verse that way. I think, for the most part, the Christians I know do realize what that verse is talking about. However, Paul speaking that all things are lawful, but not all things are beneficial ~ and Peter calling all things "clean" after his dream ~ I have seen interpreted as a free for all. Those whom I know and am closest to consider our bodies to be a temple, and take seriously how we treat it. On the other hand, there are certainly many out there who seem to consider gluttony to not be an issue (the church pot luck, desserts after every fellowship, etc.). I just haven't seen the verse you mention used in the free for all. But thanks!
