Re: Infantile Eczema .... Is it curable by medicines?

Hello,

Let me first clear up why I stressed the importance of clean skin. I operate under the assumption that many parents of eczema children are following the doctor recommended once to twice a week bathing regimen. It is for that reason, I spent time articulating my reasons for daily cleansing (bath or wash) of the skin. Since this wasn't the case for you, there is no need to increase the bathing. On those sensitive areas, just do a pat wash (no scrubbing) to pick up any dirt on the skin.

Also, I develope allergic eczema reactions after eating mango. This may be a caution item for your son as well. This would be something to pay attention to.

In reference to the skin care, I still recommend the Burt's Bees Baby Bee skin care line (in particular, the almond oil, vitamin E bath oil, and the Buttermilk lotion). Other good alternatives for moisture replenishing would be Borage Skin Therapy by Shikai (pediatric formula) or Colloidal Skin Therapy lotion by Nature's Gate. I prefer to see more vitamin/mineral enriched moisturizers used on children's skin. More than moisturizing, you also want the lotion to feed the cells the nutrients (like vitamin E, vitamin C, beta carotene, essential fatty acids, etc.) it needs to produce a healthy result. I prefer light moisturizers, over the heavy; due to the fact that I want to give the skin cells breathing room and not to clog the poors with heavy creams.

To help ease the bathing tension, I recommend the Burt's Bees Vitamin E Bath oil, or the Burt's Bees milk bath, or Shikai's moisturizing bath & shower gel (containing aloe/colloidal oatmeal), or adding chamomile or calendula oils to the bath water.
