Light on/ light off/ yet light still exists in darkness

i love the visual in this post wherein it states turning out a flashlight does not mean that light no longer exists, just because you cannot see it..

just as absense of darkness when you turn it back on does not mean darkness no longer exists.

when the sun shines on one part of the earth, the other part is in darkness
yet both are in existence in same time
