Well...
This is a vegetarian support forum. The warning about soy applies to everyone, vegetarian or not.
Since she was inquiring about becoming vegan, I will give her some more links to consider.
Did you ever read "The Maker's Diet"? He certainly doesn't recommend being vegan. I am not saying whether I agree with that or not, just another source to consider.
Another book that I think is very credible is Nourishing Traditions. You can read about those ideas at

Although God created people as vegans in the beginning, and I think we will apparently be vegans in the new heaven and earth (if we even eat), I don't think that for now God wants us to be vegans, since the people in most of the Bible clearly ate meat as God allowed/approved/in some cases required.
HOWEVER, considering the food and knowledge available these days, it is certainly beneficial for many people to become vegan, if they do it properly. The animal resources in general these days are concernably polluted such as hormones and
Antibiotics and living conditions, so those are potential reasons to become vegan, not really because of the meat so much as the current toxins put into them. My aunt and uncle are 85% rawfood vegans, it is called the Hallelujah Diet and you can read about it at

I just wanted you to realize that you can clean up your diet and improve your health significantly without becoming a vegetarian. If you do feel that it is important to become vegetarian or vegan, you can do that as well, just make sure to read and research about whatever you choose to do so that you can do it WELL. There are meat eaters and there are vegans who have poor diets and poor health, one needs to be careful and informed no matter what their dietary choices and convictions! The dangers of soy being one example.
Curezone is an excellent place to learn about how to eat properly as well as what foods to avoid, so stay around here to learn more and more!
