Your intestines *have* been overworked, and so has your liver and gall bladder and all the parts connected between. That's kinda the point. The diarrhea is basically because whatever toxins you've flushed out of your liver, etc., need to be eliminated quickly, so your system doesn't reabsorb them. Diarrhea helps that along. So, yes, I'm afraid it is "necessary".

Then again, maybe some of the other Liver Flushes are less diarrhea-inducing. (Some don't even call for Epsom salt, I believe, so...) So many options...
