No, John, just like most people in the world, including MANY Christians, you have been given the wrong impression. We are not (and should not be) aiming for a SO CALLED 'buddyship' or merit based relationship with The Lord with 'brownie points'. It is as though the door to heaven is locked (because we are not perfect, only perfection is fit for heaven), but the Creator wants us to be able to be with Him in heaven, so He sent the key and wishes that each person on earth will accept the key. The name of that special key is JESUS. But after accepting that key, if we continue to hate and kill each other or do other things to cause others to suffer evil, that key was never really accepted SINCERELY and will not work (because we only thought we truly accepted it). It is a human weakness not to accept sincerely (human nature), but the Creator really wants us back, so He left all His character attributes/attitudes (Holy Spirit) with us so that we could learn to be good loving people instead of be INSINCERE. Some Christians will learn to be loving and just people, some always were and will only learn to REFINE their ways. Either way, they should ONLY learn from God's spirit after initially learning how to read scripture. Hebrews 6:1 says "Therefore, we MUST leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and MOVE ON to MATURITY". This was being said to a crowd of Christians that did not GROW in love after first being introduced to the ways of God. Our devotion should not be ONLY to Jesus, we should love The Father (Creation). Forget about DOCTRINE, if you have love in your heart, you will:

1) love THE PEOPLE (people who have love in their heart do this kind of thing)
2) love where they came from (want to thank the Creator)


The attitude of love can be taught, but there are many people on this earth that it doesn't have to be taught to and are well fit for being a "Godlover" Christian that also loves the PEOPLE if only they would understand their need for accepting the "KEY". Basically, THAT is simply what a true Christian is (a lover that not only loves the people, but also loves where they came from). Many will jump at the chance to argue all kinds of doctrines and obedience, etc., but if you have love in your heart, all you have to do is accept the key (if you are 99 years old and on your deathbed, otherwise, if your in better health and can read, you have the responsibility to learn more about God by reading the bible).

God doesn't recognize any BUDDY relations, He is no respecter of persons (persona, no favorites, no special treatment or priveledges).

Ephesians 5:8 says that we are to walk as children of light (not some esoteric children of THE light). Verse 9 says that the fruit (results) of light are found in everything that is GOOD and RIGHT and TRUE. I grew up as an idealist and always loved what is good and right and true. To me, God is reality and truth, He is THE ORIGIN. To me, He is the only truth of reality (evil is illogical, peace and harmony are logical).

Phillipians 1:17 (there were 2 groups of preachers) "...the former proclaim Christ out of partisanship, NOT sincerely..."

Watch out for the partisans (wolfs in sheeps clothing). Real Christianity is non-partisan (generic), not a social club or kindness group.
