Re: Holy hip hop!
Picking up after yourself is responsible and caring for a cause is responsible, and it goes without saying that God wants us to be good people. But we have to establish limits so that we don't become PREoccupied with things that are political/politically correct. Being concerned with the environment is good, just as anything that is good, BUT Christ did not come to teach us how to fight evil, He did not come to bring "peace on earth", He came to create a division between good and evil, meaning He came to teach us a DIVISION (as a sword would divide) between the two so that we would understand very clearly that right is right and wrong is wrong and never the twain shall meet. We are to divide morality in two (ONLY two, not different levels of good). This knowledge of/about good and evil is important because people all over the world SUFFER the CONSEQUENCES of evil and we should feel SORROW for them and do what we can to help them. This is what The Lord really wants from us, not the simple ability to count the demerits of violations of various codes (sin against code of etiquette, conduct code, dress code, morality code, environmental code, etc.). Violating a code will yield nothing to the heart, but not CAUSING evil for the sake of those who might suffer it's consequences is an act of a Godly heart, and THAT is what God wants. So, while caring for the environment is a responsible cause, we must not get carried away and make it a spiritual matter (reducing the amount of wars that cause suffering and death would be more worthy a cause because it prevents suffering). Realistically, it accomplishes little to prevent global warming if the people are dead. We must have priorities (Save the people first and then the earth).
Christianity has got to get serious. Humanity (not just Christianity) has misinterpreted the bible because of our natural limitations (the flesh) and we must learn to care about the PEOPLE, not goodness and perfection (No one but God is "GOOD", "GOOD" is an ABSOLUTE, we are to practice goodNESS).
The bible is not even the word of GOD, it is the word of TRUTH (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 6:17). This "DIVISION" is what we will learn from the Holy Spirit and the change from good to evil is clear and abrupt (no middle ground, no shadow or variation, James 1:17).
