Re: Something to consider when discussing this with your family
Rae,
Please Pardon me if I seem harsh, I can't help but notice your preoccupation with winning over your family and friends to allow you to do the flushes. While I won't tell you that this will absolutely solve your problem, I can tell you that you can always go back and have surgery, but once they have removed an organ from your body, it cannot be returned. So always try other options first, surgery can only be considered the last and only option. And as far as winning over your family - this is a matter of respect, respect for your body and respect for your right to care for your body as well as you know how ( and we are all learning - hopefully!) While you must respect the fact that your family is concerned about you, only you have to live with the consequences of your actions, if you have the surgery and are not 100% convinced that you CHOOSE to - you will regret it every day after. That harms you- your physical person and your very being - so ALWAYS, ALWAYS follow what YOU determine to be the best course of action. This will occasionally involve less that perfectly successful decisions, but never the less, you MUST respect your own need to care for yourself - NO ONE can care for YOU as well as YOU can and frankly no one will, it is your responsibility - it cannot be passed on. If you give that power to anyone else - you have abandoned yourself - that will harm you far more than any surgery.
I wish you all the strength and success possible.
Rosie
