Re: Peripheral Neuropathy? Help!!!

Sufferers without relief you are not alone. I have been through all "alternative" solutions, and have ended up in a wheel chair (even that is not a solution as the pressure of weight from my lower torso resting on the feet attachments hurt), am addicted to narcotics (yes, I tried at least 13 different drugs, including 2400 mg of neurontin/day, and many others, drugs, acupuncture etc). I get about 3 2 hour pockets of relief per day, and suffer the rest of the time. I take anti-siezure meds to be able to sleep at all. This is after 18 years of doctors and research, loss of education, career and ended up living in my car. Beware of hokey solutions. Find a good neurologist (I have one of the best at the best hospital in Los Angeles), orthopaedic and internist. Take the tests. The root cause for me was nerve trauma from a car accident. There is no surgery. I have sat in a cold bathtub, on ice packs and almost always on a pillow. I can do pilates and mild yoga, and the only cardio left is the recumbant stationary bike. I do what I can, but at 44 am on lists for disabled housing and no longer in denial. Sincerely, Maucee in LA
