It isn't possible to create a standard minimum wage. A so-called rich man
in China might be considered a pauper in Brazil. Mexicans are glad to
travel thousands of miles into the U.S. to work for wages that
Americans could not support a family (or themselves) on. The illegal
workers even send large sums of money home. How can it be done?
The taxpayer susidizes the social and medical welfare of the cheap
labor. Who makes out? Stockholders and owners of the companies that utilize
the cheap labor. The only way you can establish an international minimum
wage is to lower those with the highest standard of living to equal
those of the lowest standard. I sense the world leaders would very much like
to accomplish that feat.
